The motif is a plaster statue.

A modified Wellington made of celluloid.

The corners of the frame have been roughly chamfered by a craftsman to give the appearance of beveled edges on a plaster statue.

The tips of the temples are accented with a randomly engraved pattern.

A clear fabric is attached to the surface of the tortoiseshell pattern, giving it a glossy appearance.

The clings, hinge fittings, and even the core metal at the end of the temples are all painted, showing attention to detail even in the parts that cannot be seen.
