lazare studio "wabisabi"
The iconic "wabisabi" from lazare studio.
A finish that goes against the common idea of darkening with age, transforming from a rough state to a pristine one.
This time, I borrowed a sample that has been used for about three years, so let's compare it with a new wabisabi piece.
The top is new, the bottom is a 3-year-old sample.
When placed side-by-side, the difference is striking. They are completely different.
The aged sample is glossier.
Looking closely, you can see that while there's a glossy sheen, the original black parts are still scattered throughout.
It has a profound, aged silver accessory-like atmosphere.
Interestingly, the Chrome Hearts bangle that designer Alexandre had possessed a similar vibe.
What further changes will occur from here is a delight to discover through use.
Of course, the degree of change varies depending on the frequency and manner of use.
The thought that no two pieces will undergo the exact same aging process, becoming truly unique, is exciting.
Eyewear that I can genuinely say is "good" from the bottom of my heart.
I'm truly glad to be able to carry lazare studio products.
Not limited to this model, all frames in col.wabi sabi will age over time, so if you find a shape you like, please be sure to get it.
